Dart names Contractors of the Month

Dart Transit Company named its August 2006 Contractors of the Month: John Curtis of the Dallas Operating Center and Gil Berrios of the Eagan Operating Center. Con-tractors of the Month are recognized for their on-time performance, dependability and outstanding safety record. In other news, Alcoa awarded Dart its 2006 “Van Tier 1 Core Carrier Award” for outstanding commitment and service. The award recognizes Dart for its competitive costs, meeting Alcoa business performance expectations, pickup, delivery and safety.

Bay & Bay unveils new trailer designs

 

To the delight of excited parade goers, Bay & Bay Transportation boldly led the convoy at the annual Title Town Truck Show parade held in Green Bay, WI. Bay & Bay chose the event to unveil its newly designed racing red stripe trailers. The company will pair five such trailers with its existing red, white and blue American Spirit trucks. Bay & Bay President Sam Anderson added, “These trailer-truck combos proudly display our company’s patriotic spirit, and they’re a great tool to show support for our communities.”

Warren Transport salutes top drivers

Warren Transport announced that Monica Balderas, an independent contractor, has been selected as its September Driver of the Month. Balderas has been with Warren Transport since 2000. Warren also announced that independent contractors Harold and Rose Lowe have been selected as their October Drivers of the Month. The Lowes have been with Warren since 1997.

Schneider makes military-friendly list

Schneider National has been ranked 17th on G.I. Jobs’ annual list of the “Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers.” The company received the distinction for its successful recruiting efforts and benefits programs for reservists, National Guard members and veterans. The rankings are based on surveys of company policies supporting reservists and National Guard members called to active duty and company recruiting and hiring initiatives.

CFI honors October Drivers of the Month

CFI announced the following driver award recipients for October 2006: Company Driver —Francis Untiedt; Company team—Larry Howell and Daia Elkins; Contractor Driver—Philip Sefiane; Contractor Team—William and Victoria Bumgardner. As the October 2006 winners, each driver and team is automatically nominated for the 2006 year-end award in their respective category.

Roehl Transport receives EPA award

Roehl Transport was honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from truck exhaust. The company received the agency’s SmartWay Excellence Award. The EPA created SmartWay to demonstrate that participants can save money on fuel and operating costs while helping the environment.
