DART TRANSIT CO. PURCHASES "STATE OF THE ART" TRUCKING-DRIVING SIMULATOR

DALLAS , TX -- Dave Oren, President of Dart Transit, announced today that Dart Transit has purchased a “state of the art” truck-driving simulator from the Texas Motor Transportation Association.

Oren said when Dart Transit was approached by TMTA, he felt it was an opportunity that could not be missed. “We believe this is a way to promote the trucking industry to the motoring public, and to help our drivers improve their driving skills by using the simulator. We look forward to taking it on the road and promoting safe driving and enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of our owner operators by using the rolling classroom as well.”

Plans for the simulator include using it to provide drivers with an opportunity to hone their driving skills, to promote the trucking industry to the public, and to use it as a classroom to provide Highway Watch® training as well as providing business courses for drivers who plan to become owner operators.

Oren said that the simulator would also be available to other carriers or companies with private fleets for safety training. The unit is housed and managed from the Dart Transit Dallas, Texas Operating Center.

Further information about the simulator and the schedule of appearances can be seen at the Dart Transit web site, www.dart.net. Click on the link titled “Truck Simulator” to schedule an appearance, or call (800) 733 4354 to schedule.

Dart Transit is a long-standing member of the Texas Motor Transportation Association, the Minnesota Trucking Association, and the Truckload Carrier Association and has recently joined the American Trucking Association. Dart Transit recently achieved Sponsorship level with OOIDA.
