We’re Having a Ball and Making a Difference
Scranton , Penn – Sheryl Youngblood, Ph.D. of KnightTime, Inc. and Don Siekerman,
Safety Director of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association cordially invite you to attend the first annual Truckers’ Ball on Saturday, February 18, 2006, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Antique Automobile Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, I-81, Exit 77, four miles east on Rt. 39.
Attendees will indulge in tantalizing food by What If… Hershey as they stroll through the Museum marveling at the timeless beauty of 85 classics. Upon arriving at the diner, ball goers will savor sumptuous sweets and revel in the sounds of their favorite music with Skuba Entertainment.
“Companies and truck drivers from all over the United States , including distant states like California , New Mexico , and Florida are planning to attend,” said Sheryl Youngblood. “In coordinating this event, we have anticipated the needs of truck drivers. For example, the Museum has plenty of room for truck parking. One of the hotels, with which we have negotiated discounted rates, is adjacent to the hotel, and several others also accommodate truck parking. Additionally, two truck stops are located at Exit 77. Since this is a Black Tie event, we made arrangements with Tuxedo Junction to have discounted tuxedos available on-site the day of the Ball. Attendees should call Bob at Tuxedo Junction (570) 346-3456 and give their measurements in advance. We will also have some loan gowns available should the need arise.” Sheryl has some advice for those planning to attend: “Prepare for an enchanted evening.”
The Ball is fifty dollars per person and proceeds go toward the Teddy Bear Education & Emergency Assistance Fund to assist truck drivers and their dependent family members who need help dealing with unforeseeable financial crises resulting from medical problems, emergency travel, death, fires, natural disasters, or college expenses. It gives drivers the breathing room to deal with their immediate situations. Contributions to the Fund are tax deductable.
