CFI Honors Darrow’s Three Million Miles

Joplin, MO --- CFI , an international truckload carrier based in Joplin , Missouri , is pleased to announce the fourth driver in CFI history to reach three million miles.

Ned Darrow , who started driving for CFI in 1979, began driving professionally because he was tired of farming. He cautions all drivers to think about the other drivers on the road. “Think of someone other than yourself,” Darrow admonishes. Darrow resides in Saginaw , Missouri , with his wife Leah.

“CFI has had 649 professional drivers reach the one million mile mark, 46 professional drivers reach the two million mile mark, and only four professional drivers reach the three million mile mark during their driving careers at CFI,” remarks Herb Schmidt, president and CEO of CFI. “From these figures you can see what a rare achievement Ned Darrow has accomplished.”

CFI, founded in 1951, operates approximately 2,300 tractors and over 7,400 trailers and transports a variety of goods throughout the contiguous United States and Canada . CFI interlines with Mexican carriers at various border crossings to provide through-trailer service to Mexico . In addition to its Joplin headquarters, CFI operates four terminals and numerous drop lots along the border and throughout the United States . CFI and its subsidiaries* have 37 sales offices throughout North America and a work force of 3,000 people. The driver fleet is comprised of both company drivers and independent contractors. CFI’s website can be found on the Internet at www.cfi-us.com. CFI’s site is also available in Spanish, located at www.cfi-mx.com.
