ARROW TRUCKING COMPANY ANNOUNCES PAY INCREASE
Tulsa, Okla., February 9, 2006 – Arrow Trucking Company, one of the nation’s largest flatbed transportation companies, announced today that it will increase its driver compensation by up to 4 cents per mile for a maximum base rate of 44 cents per mile for all company line-haul drivers effective February 28, 2006. “We continue to look for ways to enhance driver compensation and quality of life, and we believe this pay increase demonstrates our commitment to our drivers,” said Doug Pielsticker, Arrow president and chief executive officer. Arrow also announced that independent contractor pay will increase by 6 percent to 90 cents per mile base rate from 85 cents per mile.
Under the new compensation plan, all company linehaul drivers will receive an across-the-board 2 cents per mile pay increase. In addition, the company is offering an incentive bonus of up to 2 cents per mile for drivers that average a minimum of 10,000 safe miles each month. “We are proud of the professional and safe manner in which our drivers operate every day of the year and are pleased to be able to recognize their accomplishments in this manner,” said Bob Fitzgerald, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Arrow Trucking.
The company separately announced its intentions to acquire up to 200 new tractors in 2006. “Arrow has invested more than $125 million to upgrade our fleet over the past two years. The average age of our equipment is app roximately one and one-half years old,” Pielsticker said. “We are proud to offer the best and newest equipment to our drivers, and to offer the option of Kenworth, International and Freightliner brands”. The company will acquire Kenworth and International tractors starting in March.
