Driver Philip Smith is Thankful to Call Keller Home
Defiance, Ohio --- During this season of thanks and giving, driver Philip Smith shows his own gratitude to Keller Trucking for truly taking the driver’s needs into consideration.
Smith, who has been driving commercially for nearly three and half years, is happy to have found a place to call home with Keller. “The best part about Keller is its personable environment. Every employee is treated as if they are part of an extended family,” Smith says. He adds, “the only thing I can think of that I don’t like is the fact that I didn’t find Keller sooner!”
Smith is especially grateful for the recent time off he was given after only having worked for Keller for a couple of months. Smith’s stepfather recently played in the 12 th Annual ForeHope / Guy Derr Memorial Adaptive Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, which is an “organization formed to provide therapeutic golf to individuals with what we call ‘disabilities.’” “I was requested to serve as a much-need volunteer, and with many thanks to Keller, I was given ample time off to attend the event with my stepfather, who had a stroke in 1994,” Smith adds.
Along with their policy of getting all OTR drivers home every weekend, “Keller is very gracious in working with the drivers should we need more time at home,” Smith says. During his home time, Smith says he is a “computer nerd” at heart. He enjoys writing Windows-compatible software just for fun, computer gaming and also writing smooth jazz music to relieve some of the stress related to driving.
Recruiter Jason Frederick adds that “We are very appreciative of the hard work and dedication Smith has displayed to this company so far, and we try to do our best to take care of him, as well as all of our drivers, and show them the gratitude they truly deserve.” Professional drivers interested in career opportunities with Keller Trucking, Inc., can visit www.kellerlogistics.com or call 1-888-9KELLER.
